Job summary

Parabola Labs, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to measure and improve system reliability, performance, and developer experience.

You will cover on-call, infrastructure, and architectural work while supporting tens of thousands of concurrent workflows with Temporal. In a hybrid NYC/SF setup, you will collaborate with leadership and engineering to define SLOs/SLAs, improve observability, and guide major backend projects through release.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SRE, DevOps, or Platform engineering experience.
• Proven record of building efficient, performant, and easy to extend systems.
• Maintained quantitative metrics of site reliability while judging SLOs & SLAs.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and Linux.
• Experience implementing and managing AWS infrastructure.
• You’re an enthusiastic communicator and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Monitor core business-logic software and define SLOs/SLAs for response expectations.
• Extend and monitor the infrastructure stack to support business-critical usage.
• Maintain a model of systems for risk estimation, planning, and debugging.
• Collaborate with engineering and leadership from a site reliability perspective.
• Work on orchestration logic to run tens of thousands of workflows, recently rebuilt on Temporal.
• Advise parallel backend projects from planning to release, influencing architecture and priorities.
• Optimize services for scalability, stability, and observability as the customer base grows.
• Improve developer experience and engineering processes amid AI tooling pressures.
