Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help scale and secure our multi-site production services across global data centers and AWS. You’ll improve scalability, operability, and performance while provisioning and maintaining production systems in a distributed environment.

You’ll join a team that values ownership, automation, and calm problem solving, contributing to architecture, on-call rotations and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable security

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and tuning in systems, networking and cloud services.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Experience automating management tasks with Node.js, Python, or scripting languages.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, LDAP.
• Experience managing a large distributed computing environment and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware vSphere, OpenStack).
• Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain 24x7, multi-site production infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Operations for reliable deployments.
• Perform monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and security tasks.
• Lead on-call rotations and incident response.
• Drive scalable design and architecture improvements.
