Job summary
Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design, scale and operate our production services across data centers and AWS. You’ll own reliability, performance, capacity planning and automation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship secure, scalable solutions.
The role emphasizes incident management, on-call readiness, and hands-on infrastructure engineering in a fast-moving security-focused environment.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of troubleshooting and tuning in systems, networking, and cloud services.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- US citizenship required.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.
- Experience automating management and operational tasks using scripting languages.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain 24x7 production infrastructure across multi-site data centers and AWS.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Operations to ensure reliable services.
- Perform monitoring, alerting, capacity planning and incident response.
- Participate in on-call rotations and escalation handling.
- Contribute to design and architecture of scalable infrastructure.
- Root-cause complex problems involving networking, hardware and software.
