Job summary
Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Utah to design, implement, and operate scalable production systems across data centers and AWS. You will optimize reliability, capacity, and performance while driving automation and incident response.
You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Ops teams, own monitoring and on-call duties, and contribute to architecture decisions for resilient services.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of troubleshooting, tuning, and maintaining complex systems.
- Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
- Automate management tasks using Node.js or Python.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and LDAP.
- Experience with large distributed computing environments.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure management (AWS/Azure).
- US citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production infrastructure across data centers and AWS.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and incident response.
- Monitor, alert, capacity planning, and reporting in production.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Operations teams to enable reliability.
- Design and evolve scalable, reliable architectures.
- Troubleshoot complex performance and scaling issues.
- Lead incident resolution and root-cause analysis.
