Job summary

Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to drive modernization across a large-scale hybrid cloud footprint, with emphasis on re-architecting on-prem workloads to Google Cloud Platform.

The role involves implementing SRE practices, IaC, and automation to improve reliability and security. You will design, implement, and monitor SLOs/SLIs, lead post-mortems, and collaborate with DevOps and product teams to enable scalable, secure services across GCP/AWS/Azure.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of experience in cloud and hybrid datacenter operations with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Site Reliability Engineering.
Proficiency with GCP (preferred), AWS, and/or Azure.
Proficient in using GitOps, Terraform and Ansible in a CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery) pipeline.
Experience using PowerShell, Python, or GoLang.
Solid understanding of Linux (POSIX) and Windows System administration as well as networking and firewalls.
Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards such as CIS, NIST and PCI.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation every 7-8 weeks.
Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Google Cloud Architect preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive the reliability and performance of both public cloud and internal server infrastructure environments.
Design and implement robust SRE practices, including defining and monitoring SLOs and SLIs, focusing on proactive system health and error budgets.
Ruthlessly eliminate manual, repetitive work (toil) through automation and develop tooling to streamline operations.
Treat the cloud and on-prem environments as a software project using IaC (Terraform, Ansible) in CI/CD pipelines.
Design and maintain configuration management processes to ensure the desired state of the hybrid datacenter infrastructure.
Establish and manage comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems with self-healing capabilities.
Lead blameless post-mortems and RCAs for critical incidents.
Develop and implement security remediation and compliance automation (CIS, NIST, PCI).
Support migration and redesign of services from on-premises data centers to GCP/Azure.
Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to embed reliability best practices across the SDLC.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for SRE processes and runbooks.
