Job summary

Comcast is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, reliability, and observability for multiple teams. You will design scalable infrastructure on AWS/Kubernetes, write IaC tooling, and extend the observability stack to detect and alert on issues.

The role includes on‑call rotations, incident escalation, and creating playbooks and documentation to ensure robust, high‑availability services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large‑scale distributed systems.
• At least three years of administration experience with Linux, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• At least three years of experience in configuration management using CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible or similar.
• At least three years of experience coding in higher‑level languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and strong verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and build infrastructure solutions for high scalability, reliability, and sub‑second performance.
• Write code and scripts to support Infrastructure as code, configuration management, and automated incident resolution.
• Support and extend the observability stack to capture and alert on issues.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and serve as escalation contact for incidents.
• Write system documentation, playbooks, and instruction manuals.
