Job summary

Tighe & Bond seeks a Site Civil Project Engineer 2 to join the Land Use team in Middletown or Shelton, CT. You will design civil/site developments, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include leading design tasks, preparing estimates, conducting field observations, and mentoring junior staff. This role offers a hybrid work model and opportunities for growth within a respected, employee‑owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8–10 years of civil/site design experience.
• PE license in Massachusetts or ability to obtain within one year.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HydroCAD.
• Strong understanding of land development regulations and municipal engineering standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute engineering design tasks for civil/site development projects.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications, cost estimates, and project reports.
• Conduct construction observation and contractor supervision for quality and compliance.
• Perform stormwater analysis and hydrologic modeling using design software.
• Participate in client meetings and provide guidance to stakeholders.
• Review shop drawings and ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and foster collaboration.
• Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Effectively manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills.
