Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking a technical leader for the Simulator Platform to drive architecture, performance, and scalability across the Waymo Driver simulation stack. You will steer multi-team collaboration and deliver high-efficiency simulations for end-to-end evaluation.

The role emphasizes low-level optimization to high-level configuration, targeting reduced CPU/RAM usage and improved throughput with CPU/GPU/TPU decisions. Strong communication with senior stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS, EE, Robotics, Physics, Math, or related field.
• 6+ years experience on large-scale or high-complexity systems.
• Proven ability to set technical vision and roadmaps with senior teams.
• Excellent communication with leadership and partner teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop Simulator architecture improvements for high performance and utilization.
• Scale simulation compute usage across data centers and clusters.
• Identify bottlenecks with evaluation and infrastructure teams.
• Design, build, and optimize high-throughput simulator runs.
• Establish performance evaluation and change-management processes.
• Optimize resource usage across CPU, GPU, and TPU.
