Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Dallas, Texas (Irving) is seeking a seasoned developer to advance autonomous construction simulations. You will build and integrate the simulation software stack, write high‑quality code, and collaborate with the Robotic team to deliver reliable, high‑value solutions.

This onsite role requires 5+ years of backend and frontend coding, experience with 3D rendering, GIS/mapping, and AI tooling, along with cloud knowledge and CI/CD discipline. Relocation sponsorship considered.

Qualifications

• Experience building simulation and rendering platforms.
• 3D object rendering/manipulation.
• Mapping tech (GIS, terrain mapping, OpenLayers).
• Knowledge of web graphics/animation libraries.
• Open source APIs and data publication (GraphQL).
• DB schema design/publishing (SQL, NoSQL).
• CI/CD tooling and best practices for engineering teams.
• AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot).
• Cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure, Google Cloud).
• Web automation tooling and CI/CD (Webpack, ESLint, Playwright).

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of the simulation software stack (full stack).
• Write high‑quality software and contribute to code reviews.
• Collaborate with peers and onboard new teammates.
• Participate in design and requirements discussions.
• Coordinate with the Robotic team to align needs with implementation.
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Engage in brainstorming and ideation sessions.
• Contribute proactively beyond defined tasks.
