Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Simulation Engineer to own and extend the simulation tooling used with our autonomy stack. You will shape determinism, reproducibility, and the test regime to gate releases and reduce flaky failures.

You will build cloud-scale scenario execution, evaluation layers, and failure-triage tooling while extending the V&V scenario authoring tools for backend and frontend teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in CS, EE, Robotics, or related field.
• Strong Python with maintainable code in a shared codebase.
• Hands-on simulation experience for autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with sim platforms such as CARLA, Gazebo, or similar.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and cloud execution for end-to-end validation.
• Debugging and profiling in distributed, GPU-bound systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend the simulation environment and models.
• Maintain integration with the autonomy stack and simulators.
• Run scenario execution in the cloud: orchestration, results, cost modelling.
• Develop the evaluation layer with precise pass/fail criteria for gates.
• Create failure-triage tooling and dashboards for engineers.
• Extend scenario authoring tooling for V&V teams.
• Maintain determinism and coverage across maps and sites.
