Voyant Photonics in NYC seeks a Senior Silicon Photonics Design Engineer to own component development from concept and simulation through layout, tapeout, and characterization. You will push device performance for optical switches, waveguides, couplers, and detectors by applying solid photonics theory and hands-on experimentation.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in EE, Applied Physics, Photonics, or related field, or M.S. with substantial industry experience.
• Strong background in silicon photonic component design and device optimization.
• Experience bringing designs through silicon photonics foundry tapeouts.

Responsabilités

• Design, simulate, and optimize passive and active silicon photonic components.
• Drive tapeouts and coordinate with manufacturing partners.
• Analyze optical characterization data to guide design improvements.
• Collaborate with system-level PIC designers to translate requirements into specs.
• Develop component layouts and test structures with layout engineers.
