Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Signal Timing Engineer III, IV, or V to perform advanced transportation engineering across planning, design, construction, and operations. The role requires coordination with officials, on-site reviews, and oversight of traffic management systems.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s in engineering and 6–8+ years of relevant experience. A valid driver’s license and PE licensure (or progression to licensure) are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science.
• 6+ years for Engineer III, 7+ years for Engineer IV, 8+ years for Engineer V in engineering/transportation.
• Valid driver’s license; PE license or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates traffic engineering studies and traffic counts.
• Drives to project locations for on-site reviews and technical support.
• Interprets manuals/guidelines for traffic operations.
• Reviews traffic studies, warrants for signals, and speed zones.
