Job summary

KellyMitchell Group in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Security Infrastructure Support – SIEM & Data Pipeline Technical Lead / SME to join our team. You will architect and deploy SIEM, build data pipelines, and ensure secure integration across on-prem and cloud environments.

The role requires 10+ years in IT security, 5+ as senior engineer, and hands-on experience with SIEM, cloud platforms, and CI/CD. You will mentor junior engineers and communicate complex concepts to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 10+ years designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise IT systems.
• 5+ years at the Senior Engineer level or higher in infrastructure or cybersecurity.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools or SIEM implementation.
• Hybrid on-prem + cloud environments with cloud security operations (AWS, Azure, O365).
• Experience with log formats (CEF, LEEF, JSON, XML) and data enrichment.
• Strong scripting ability in Python or JavaScript; CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to explain complex data and security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with CDM, NIST/CISA frameworks and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience vetting with vendors and cross-functional federal/enterprise teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and deployment of SIEM and log management across environments.
• Develop, implement, and maintain secure data pipelines to aggregate, normalize, and enrich log data.
• Oversee integration between on-premise and cloud environments to ensure visibility of security events.
• Manage data flow, transformation, and event correlation logic.
• Develop automation scripts in Python/JavaScript to streamline ingestion and monitoring.
• Implement CI/CD processes and DevOps practices for pipeline deployments.
• Serve as SME for cybersecurity data architecture; assist in data dictionaries, dashboards, and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and federal stakeholders to align with CDM and NIST frameworks.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and analysts.
• Communicate complex security and data concepts to technical and executive audiences.
