Job summary

KellyMitchell Group in Bethesda, MD seeks a Security Infrastructure Support Senior Security Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise IT security across hybrid environments. You will implement SIEM tools, secure cloud environments, and apply DevSecOps practices to integrate security into the software lifecycle.

The role requires 10+ years’ experience, 5+ years at a senior level, strong Python scripting, and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to diverse audiences,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise IT systems.
• 5+ years of experience at the Senior Engineer level or higher.
• 3+ years hands-on with cybersecurity tools or SIEM implementation and administration.
• Experience supporting hybrid infrastructures on-prem and cloud.
• Strong cloud security knowledge (AWS, Azure, O365) including migration and hardening.
• Understanding of virtualization technologies and secure configuration practices.
• DevSecOps practices integrated into security operations.
• Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
• Excellent communication for technical and executive audiences.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain security systems across hybrid infrastructures on-premises and cloud.
• Implement, configure, and administer cybersecurity tools and SIEM platforms to support threat detection and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, O365), including migrations and hardening.
• Apply DevSecOps practices to integrate security into development, build, and deployment processes.
• Create and maintain automation scripts and tools (Python preferred) for monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Support virtualization platforms and ensure secure configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors to enhance security posture.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and analysts.
• Communicate complex security concepts and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
• Ensure all systems and processes comply with federal cybersecurity frameworks, including FISMA, NIST, and CDM standards.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical security concepts to diverse audiences
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors

Pay Range

The approximate pay range for this position is between $95.00 and $125.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
