Job summary

MaxLinear is seeking a Principal Signal & Power Integrity (SI/PI) Engineer to join our team in Carlsbad, CA. The role focuses on developing state-of-the-art packages and PCBs for next-generation products, and performing SI/PI simulations to ensure signals meet specs.

You will design and simulate high-speed interfaces and PDN for advanced SoC packages, collaborating across IC design, layout and validation teams. A BS/MS/PhD with extensive experience is required.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of electromag fundamentals, transmission lines, and microwave theory.
• Experience in SI/PI analysis for high-speed systems including packages and PCBs.
• Strong knowledge of S-parameters, frequency- and time-domain analysis.
• Proficient with 2.5D/3D solvers like HFSS, SIwave, Sigrity tools.
• Hands-on with lab equipment: VNA, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, TDR.
• Experience driving package/PCB development and cross-team collaboration.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with IEEE and optical design standards is a plus.
