The Role

We are seeking a talented Shopify ecosystem developer with deep experience, preferably based in NYC, Toronto, or San Francisco. Remote within North American EST is acceptable for the right candidate. You will help craft an engaging, high-performance ecommerce experience to delight customers and increase conversion and order value.

This role uniquely blends strategic product management with hands-on development to create digital commerce experiences that drive growth across enterprise and DTC segments. If you enjoy combining technical fluency with product management, design sense, and user empathy, this could be your ideal role.

Your responsibilities will be split approximately 2/3 in product management—defining strategy, creating roadmaps, prioritizing features, collaborating with stakeholders—and 1/3 in development—coding, contributing to the codebase, QA, and technical execution.

The ideal candidate has a background in product, growth, or analytics at high-growth ecommerce startups or agencies, with software development skills to bring ideas to life. Experience working with designers and developers to launch impactful ecommerce experiences is essential. You should be adept at handling edge cases, using data to measure success, applying business intuition, and collaborating closely with developers.

You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, from costing and architecture to coding standards and documentation.

First 90 Days

• Own our digital product roadmap and backlog
• Refine sprint planning for high-leverage opportunities
• Assess and prioritize site experience improvements
• Take ownership of ongoing features
• Develop and ship new features aligned with our vision
• Estimate development costs for prioritization

Day-to-Day

• Manage ecommerce roadmap, prioritize features, write specs, coordinate with teams
• Validate project requirements and assess technical feasibility
• Track metrics like AOV, CVR, RPV, and site speed
• Gather user feedback and analyze data to inform features
• Contribute directly to codebase, from analysis to deployment
• Convert Figma designs into functional ecommerce features
• Follow style guides, optimize for speed and scalability
• Develop and enforce code standards, troubleshoot issues, support QA

Qualifications

• Expertise in Shopify Plus and ecosystem
• Proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with frameworks like Node.js, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, Vue
• Version control and data integration skills (Git, REST API)
• Ability to build responsive, user-friendly layouts
• Knowledge of site speed and performance best practices
• Experience estimating project costs and validating specs
• Attention to detail, strong communication, and a love for learning
