Job summary

The George E. Booth Co. is seeking a Shop Associate at Erdmann in Louisville, KY to assemble, test, calibrate, and repair valves and gauges to meet specs. This role also supports the Shop Foreman by coordinating daily shop activities, mentoring teammates, maintaining a safe environment, and improving production workflows.

The position is based at Erdmann in Louisville, KY, with a typical 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and occasional overtime as job duties demand.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing, mechanical technology, industrial engineering, or related field.
• Five+ years of experience assembling valves and gauges or working in a mechanical shop environment.
• Experience mentoring, training, or leading team members on a production floor.
• Advanced technical certification in hydraulics, pneumatics, or precision calibration.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex valves to customer specifications using blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and other technical documents; coordinate with sales to clarify order requirements.
• Calibrate meters, gauges, and regulators to required specifications.
• Inspect and test finished products for proper operation and quality; diagnose defects and perform repairs.
• Serve as a technical resource, demonstrating assembly techniques and assisting with troubleshooting.
• Maintain inventories of tools, shop supplies, and raw materials; document usage and test results.
• Inspect equipment for safe operation and report maintenance needs.
