Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division seeks a Superintendent for CVN 80 unit build and outfitting. Location is Newport News, Virginia.
The role oversees trades personnel, ensures training, and translates strategic plans into actionable shop-floor procedures within a high-stakes naval construction environment. Applicants should bring 8+ years (BS/Apprentice) or 10+ years (non-BS) of construction/production management, with extensive ship construction
Qualifications
- Must have BS/Apprentice + 8 years construction/production management experience.
- Must have Non-BS/Non-Apprentice + 10 years construction/production management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of ship construction, unit building and unit outfitting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, assign, coordinate and evaluate semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
- Train employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed and assist in developing training procedures.
- Break broad strategies into practical action plans and ensure employees are trained to perform these plans.
