Job summary
Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. – Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a production supervisor to oversee semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel.
You will supervise, train, and coordinate staff to meet quality targets and budget goals, ensuring compliance with drawings, procedures, and safety requirements across manufacturing and testing operations. Must have an appropriate level of supervisory experience (BS/Apprentice with 4 years or equivalent with 6 years combined supervisory/CS
Qualifications
- BS/Apprentice plus 4 years production supervisor experience, or non-BS/Non-Apprentice with 6 years combined supervisory experience and/or CS experience.
- Experience supervising semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel; training staff to improve quality and productivity.
- Knowledge of production procedures, drawings, and budget monitoring is expected.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates trades personnel by skill and experience.
- Trains employees to improve quality and productivity and supports training development.
- Ensures compliance with drawings, procedures and safety requirements; manages manufacturing, installation, operation and testing activities.
- Monitors budget performance for all shifts and reports on job progress.
