Job summary

Gulf Copper in Galveston, TX seeks a senior leader to direct supply chain, procurement, and materials management for shipbuilding and marine construction programs. You will oversee sourcing from requisition to delivery, drive supplier negotiations, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible supply chain, procurement, or materials management experience in shipbuilding, vessel construction, or marine environments.
• Experience managing procurement and materials planning for large, complex newbuild vessel programs and multidiscipline project teams.
• CSCP or CPSM certification, MBA, or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee procurement from requisition through delivery to production.
• Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and logistics to meet program requirements.
• Develop sourcing strategies, procurement schedules, and performance metrics.
• Review major purchase orders, change orders, and contracts with legal counsel.
• Ensure vendor and subcontractor performance meets safety, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Production, Quality, Finance, and Project Management.
