Job summary

Reliability & Performance Technologies (R&P) is seeking an experienced mid to senior-level ship systems test and activation engineer to join our defense-focused team in a New Construction shipyard environment. You will oversee installation, grooming, testing, and validation of Main Propulsion and Auxiliary systems on LHA Class vessels.

The role demands hands-on troubleshooting, strong collaboration with Government Project teams, Shipbuilders, and Production Teams, and the ability to travel to

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read and follow drawings, technical manuals, test plans, and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with shipboard systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute system testing and end-to-end inspections of assigned shipboard systems.
• Validate test procedures against ship specifications and CDLR references.
• Oversee mechanical installation of Main Propulsion and Auxiliary systems in a New Construction shipyard.
• Perform routine inspections and report deficiencies during testing and grooming progress.
• Provide technical support during Builders, Acceptance, Final Contract, and Special Trials.
