Job summary

R&P Technologies is seeking an experienced mid to senior-level Ship Systems Test & Activation Engineer for main propulsion and auxiliary systems on LHA Class vessels. You will lead installation, grooming, testing, and validation in a New Construction shipyard, collaborating with shipbuilders, production teams, and government project teams.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, ability to travel, and deep knowledge of maritime test requirements, drawings, and technical manuals. U.S.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow technical drawings, manuals, test plans and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and hands-on installation capability in ship systems.
• Knowledge of shipbuilding processes, regulations, and testing standards.
• Ability to travel to support ship test, activation and sea trials.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end system testing: grooming, activation and testing of shipboard systems.
• Review CDLRs for technical accuracy against ship specifications.
• Validate testing onboard vessels to ensure compliance with specs.
• Oversee mechanical installation of propulsion and auxiliary systems in shipyards.
• Identify deficiencies during inspections and report progress.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs across hull and weapon systems.
• Collaborate with Government project teams, production teams, and shipbuilders.
• Analyze drawings and design specs to support troubleshooting and testing.
