Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding in Goose Creek, SC is seeking an experienced sheet metal fabricator to join our production team. You will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal components according to blueprints and drawings, operating fabricating machinery and welding equipment to meet tight specifications.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience (or an Apprenticeship/Associate's with 3 years).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years related experience, or Apprenticeship/Associate's Degree with 3 years related experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and welding techniques.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs production sheet metal products per blueprints and specs.
• Sets up and operates fabricating machinery and welds/solders components.
• Inspects assemblies for conformance to specifications and quality standards.
