Job summary
Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. in Goose Creek, SC seeks a production sheet metal worker for fabricating, assembling, installing and repairing metal components per blueprints and specs.
You will set up fabricating machinery, form metal, and operate welding/soldering tools while ensuring quality conformance to specifications. Role requires a High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years additional related education/experience, or an Apprenticeship/Associate’s degree with 1 year relevant
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of additional education and/or related experience; or Apprentice graduate/Associate’s Degree in a relevant discipline with 1 year of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs production sheet metal products and equipment in accordance with blueprints, drawings and specifications.
- Makes sheet metal layouts; sets up and operates fabricating machinery; shapes metal over anvils, blocks or forms.
- Operates welding and soldering equipment; inspects assemblies and installations for conformance with specifications.
- May monitor and verify quality using statistical process or other control procedures.
