Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a senior Sheet Metal Mechanic to support PM Ventilation Modernization on active class surface ships. You will remove, install, and upgrade ventilation and ducting systems, lead a small trades team, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.

Applicants should have 8+ years of related experience, with shipboard exposure and the ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools. Travel 25-50% may be required; DoD clearance is a must.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Must have 8 years of related experience in shipboard maintenance or skilled trades.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team responsible for removing, modifying, and reinstalling ventilation and ducting systems aboard naval vessels.
• Cut, fit, assemble, bend, and position sheet metal and related structures.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Provide guidance and work leadership to the team and communicate with management.
