Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a Senior Microsoft SharePoint Engineer with strong Microsoft 365 experience to lead design, administration, and support of modern SharePoint Online solutions. You will build scalable collaboration environments, improve information architecture and governance, and enable secure use of Microsoft 365 services across the enterprise.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in IT, CS, Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience administering and engineering Microsoft SharePoint environments, with strong hands-on experience in SharePoint Online.
5+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies.
Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, permissions, hub sites, site templates, document management, metadata, search, and governance.
Experience with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and integration points across the M365 stack.
Experience with PowerShell automation for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 administration.
Strong understanding of identity, access management, and security concepts in Microsoft 365, including Entra ID and conditional access considerations.
Experience migrating or restructuring content or modernization initiatives.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, administer, and enhance SharePoint Online sites, hubs, libraries, lists, pages, permissions models and content structures.
Lead planning and implementation of SharePoint Online solutions for collaboration, document management, intranet publishing, and business process enablement.
Define and maintain information architecture, taxonomy, metadata strategy, navigation, search optimization, and content lifecycle practices.
Develop and maintain governance standards for provisioning, ownership, permissions, retention, external sharing, and content organization.
Troubleshoot complex SharePoint Online issues related to access, performance, configuration, integrations, discovery and user experience.
Support tenant-level administration activities and evaluate platform changes, new features and release impacts.
Partner with Microsoft 365 platform teams to align SharePoint solutions with Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Lists and other services.
Support collaboration patterns across SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive including file storage and lifecycle management.
Help define and implement M365 governance, security and compliance practices with security, legal and infrastructure teams.
Contribute to platform roadmaps, standards and operational processes for Microsoft 365 services.
Assess opportunities to improve automation, self-service and adoption across the ecosystem.
Translate business requirements into scalable SharePoint and M365 solutions with governance in mind.
Mentor junior admins or engineers and provide guidance on platform design and support practices.
Lead or support migrations from legacy file shares or classic SharePoint environments into SharePoint Online.
Create technical documentation, support models, standards and operating procedures.
