Job summary

HDR is seeking a Washington Area Safety Manager to lead SH&E programs across office and field environments. You will implement site safety plans, support project teams, and drive auditing, training, and JHA development to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Technical degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a closely related field.
Minimum 5 years of Safety Health and Environment experience.
Certification in SH&E fields such as CIH, CSP, ASP, CHMM, CHST, GSP, or equivalent SH&E PM experience.
Extensive knowledge of OSHA and ANSI regulatory standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Team-oriented with strong oral and written communication.
Active participant in an employee-owned culture is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate proficiency in implementing and reviewing site‑specific safety plans and programs.
Support and assist field staff and Project/Construction Managers in SH&E requirements.
Show proficiency in SH&E auditing and inspection protocols, behavior‑based safety observation program implementation, and development and review of Job Hazard Analysis.
Be proficient in SH&E training and able to facilitate this training as required.
Display working knowledge of SH&E regulatory codes to include both federal and state standards.
Partner with the Area Manager to establish best practices and procedures in support of SH&E requirements within an office and field environment.
Perform other duties as needed.
