Job summary

Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP, a trial law firm with offices across the country, seeks a Lead Settlement Release Paralegal for its Manhattan office. This full-time role focuses on asbestos or personal injury settlements and requires drafting and reviewing release documents with precision.

You will work closely with attorneys, clients, and defense counsel to ensure accuracy, timely processing, and clear communication throughout the settlement process.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a settlement release paralegal.
• Proven track record of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of all settlement release documents.
• Oversee work product of settlement release paralegal team.
• Coordinate with attorneys to gather necessary information for the completion of release agreements.
• Communicate with clients and explain settlement release agreements including coordinating document signing or notary appointments.
• Receive and review executed documents to ensure completion and submit to opposing counsel for processing.
• Track status of funding and follow up with opposing counsel on any delays.
• Perform additional administrative and paralegal tasks as required.
