Job summary

Family Service is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to oversee Meals on Wheels and Senior Transportation in the Senior Resource Center, Champaign County. This full-time, in-person role supports older adults by delivering meals, arranging rides, and serving as the main contact for clients and volunteers.

You will recruit, orient, and manage volunteers, handle scheduling and records, and assist with office tasks. A high school diploma is required; some college and MS Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit or social services environment, or working with older adults, is preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency including MS Office is helpful.
• Must pass a background check.
• Background checks related to DCFS and elder abuse disclosures may disqualify applicants.

Responsibilities

• Run Meals on Wheels: register clients, set up routes, monitor details, ensure delivery and safety.
• Coordinate Senior Transportation: schedule rides, liaise with partners, record-keeping and billing.
• Manage Volunteers: interview, orient, place, maintain files, process mileage reimbursements, recognize and retain volunteers.
• Support the office: assist receptionist, participate in meetings and training, help improve program operations.
