Job summary

DC Public Schools (DCPS) seeks a full-time ServiceNow Senior Application Developer to lead administration, configuration, and enhancement of the district's ServiceNow platform across multiple modules including ITSM, HRSD, and S2P.

The role requires hands-on experience with workflows, catalog items, and integration work, partnering with stakeholders and OCTO for ongoing changes, upgrades, and support. Strong ITIL knowledge and public-sector context are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Five+ years of hands-on ServiceNow administration experience.
• Ownership or co-ownership of a ServiceNow instance.
• Knowledge of Forms, lists, tables, and dictionary configuration.
• Knowledge of Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions.
• Knowledge of Roles and ACLs, update sets, and platform administration.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM knowledge.
• CAD certification and experience with ITSM/HRSD/S2P modules preferred.
• Experience building/integrating systems using REST APIs, Integration Hub, and data imports.
• Experience in a public sector, K-12, or regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary administrator for the DCPS ServiceNow instance and support day-to-day operations.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow apps, including forms, lists, workflows, notifications, and reporting.
• Support development across ITSM, HRSD, S2P, and other modules.
• Design and maintain catalog items and end-to-end workflows with Flow Designer and approvals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with OCTO for development, changes and support.
• Ensure best practices, upgrade readiness, and minimize customization.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical docs, processes, and user guides.
• Partner with IT teams, vendors, and ServiceNow partners as appropriate.
