Job summary

DC Public Schools (DCPS) seeks a full‑time ServiceNow Application Developer to support the district’s ServiceNow platform within the Office of Data & Technology. The role involves configuring, maintaining, and expanding ServiceNow across ITSM, HRSD, S2P, and other modules for district‑wide processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of ServiceNow administration, strong scripting in JavaScript, and experience integrating with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands‑on ServiceNow administration experience.
• Ownership or co‑ownership of a ServiceNow instance.
• Strong foundational knowledge of the ServiceNow platform (forms, lists, tables, dictionary).
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary administrator for the DCPS ServiceNow instance.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow applications including forms, lists, workflows, notifications, and reporting.
• Support development across ITSM, HRSD, S2P, and other modules.
• Design and maintain Service Catalog items and end‑to‑end workflows using Flow Designer.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with OCTO for development and support.
• Ensure best practices and upgrade readiness.
• Troubleshoot issues and refine processes.
• Document configuration details and user guidance.
• Partner with IT teams and vendors as needed.
