Job summary

Qualifications

• Level 4: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related field and at least 9 years of direct professional experience.
• Alternatively, high school diploma with 15+ years of direct/professional experience.
• Experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio or VS Code.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE L or Q clearance; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Apply software engineering principles to complex analytical processes and visualization.
• Plan, develop and implement software-engineering solutions for major projects.
• Support project plans, requirements, scope, cost and schedule estimates.
• Participate in technical reviews and recommend computer technology solutions.
• Maintain and upgrade systems; develop new software capabilities.
• Create and review methodologies and architectures aligned with INL mission.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, environmental, health and quality requirements.
• Document activities, reports, and existing technologies.
• Review code and system design docs and propose improvements.
• Engage in professional development to stay current with technology.
• Define strategic direction in assigned areas; mentor junior engineers.
• May write and present technical papers representing INL.
