Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Service Application Engineer to support customers and sales teams in the Central Region. This hybrid role requires residence within 50 miles of listed Eaton locations and up to 25% travel to customer sites, with a company vehicle provided.

The role leads technical service solutions and proposals, partnering with cross-functional teams to enhance reliability, performance, and safety while aligning with customer requirements and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or 7+ years of hands-on field service/proposals in electrical services.
• Minimum 3 years in application engineering, proposal development, technical marketing, engineering, sales, strategic planning, operations, or product management.
• Must have valid driver's license and clean MVR; travel up to 25%.
• US work authorization without sponsorship; ability to relocate not provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of technical solutions, proposals, and bid packages for medium to highly complex electrical service opportunities in the Central Region.
• Act as trusted technical advisor to sales teams, channel partners, and customers to develop competitive proposals.
• Analyze project specs, develop pricing strategies, prepare cost estimates and scopes of work, coordinate with subcontractors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customized solutions that improve reliability, performance, safety, and value.
• Support growth of Eaton service offerings including power system engineering, digital integration, and warranty programs.
• Drive pricing model standardization, quotation tools, processes, and best practices for proposal quality and efficiency.
• Lead customer-facing discussions and joint sales calls to promote Eaton engineering services and identify new opportunities.
• Support project transitions, track proposal metrics, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Participate in professional development and mentor team members.
• Travel up to 25% for customer engagements and site visits.
