Job summary

Atrium in New York is seeking a hands-on Senior Server Administrator to build, maintain, and improve core IT infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage, and networking. The role emphasizes practical engineering and independent problem solving.

The position is full-time and on-site, with initial five days per week on-site for the first three months, then potential to transition to four days on-site, with flexible daily hours.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in server administration and enterprise IT infrastructure management.
• Experience building, configuring, and maintaining VMware virtual machines and virtualization environments.
• Strong understanding of physical servers, virtual infrastructure, and server lifecycle management.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting storage infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose complex technical problems independently and implement practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual server environments.
• Administer VMware infrastructure, including building, configuring, managing, and supporting virtual machines.
• Monitor server performance, perform routine maintenance, and ensure the stability and availability of critical infrastructure.
• Manage and support storage systems, addressing capacity, performance, and reliability issues.
• Troubleshoot complex server, storage, and infrastructure-related problems and implement effective solutions.
• Support network infrastructure and resolve connectivity issues involving servers and other technology systems.
• Provide occasional help desk and end-user technical support as business needs require.
• Identify infrastructure risks, investigate root causes, and resolve technical issues independently.
• Partner with IT leadership to maintain a secure, reliable, and efficient technology environment.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, improvements, and ongoing maintenance initiatives.
• Manage competing technical priorities while maintaining strong service quality and operational standards.
