Job summary

Atrium in New York City seeks a hands-on Senior Server Administrator - Infrastructure & VMware to own and maintain our server environment, including physical and virtual platforms, storage, and network troubleshooting. This role is full-time with a path to hybrid work after an initial onsite period.

You will build, configure, and monitor servers and VMware environments, diagnose complex issues, collaborate with IT leadership on upgrades, and provide occasional end-user support to keep IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

Our client is an established financial services firm based in New York City. They are seeking a hands-on Senior Server Administrator - Infrastructure & VMware professional to support and maintain their server environment, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and contribute to ongoing infrastructure improvements.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$150k - $180k

Position Overview

The Senior Server Administrator - Infrastructure & VMware will join a growing IT team and take ownership of server infrastructure, including physical and virtual environments, VMware administration, storage systems, and network troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong, hands-on professional who has experience independently building, configuring, and maintaining server environments. This position is primarily focused on server administration but also includes networking and occasional end-user support.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with potential hybrid flexibility following an initial three-month onsite period.

• Strong understanding of storage systems and server performance.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience implementing infrastructure upgrades and improvements.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Willingness to provide occasional end-user technical support.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Server Administrator - Infrastructure & VMware

• Previous experience within financial services or a similar professional environment.
