Job summary

Voyant Photonics is seeking a Sensor Verification & Integration Engineer to join the Systems Team. You will design and execute verification tests for full sensor systems, troubleshoot issues, and build automated test benches.

You’ll collaborate across hardware, optics, firmware, and algorithms teams from bring-up to production support. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics (MS/PhD a plus), 3+ years in system or sensor testing, strong Python, and on-site work.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (MS or PhD a plus).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in system or sensor test, verification, or characterization.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers) and automating test equipment.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.
• Strong systems-level thinking and the ability to apply physics and engineering fundamentals to debug complex problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute verification tests for full sensor systems and subsystems.
• Troubleshoot and debug system-level and subsystem-level issues using physics and systems engineering fundamentals.
• Generate clear test reports and well-formed hypotheses to guide decisions.
• Build, maintain, and automate test benches and lab equipment for repeatable verification.
• Adapt to changing requirements and new problems as programs evolve.
• Collaborate with hardware, optics, firmware, and algorithms engineers throughout the lifecycle.
