Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – Sensor Packaging and Placement to advance autonomous sensing across multiple vehicle programs. You will perform placement studies for cameras, radars, and lidars and translate constraints into robust integration criteria.

You’ll collaborate with perception, simulation, packaging, and vehicle platform teams to document trade‑offs and decisions, supported by CAD tools like SolidWorks or NX and MATLAB/Python tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in sensor integration, packaging, or tolerance analysis
• Experience with CAD tooling (SolidWorks/NX) for sensor placement studies
• Familiarity with sensor placement challenges for autonomous systems

Responsibilities

• Conduct sensor placement studies and coverage analyses for multi‑modality systems
• Develop integration criteria and documentation for production readiness
