Job summary

Rochester Sensors in the Dallas area seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to own electronic hardware development for liquid level and sensing products, deployed across heavy equipment and industrial markets. This hands-on role covers circuit design, PCB, verification and validation, and launch support from concept through production release.

You will collaborate with firmware, mechanical, quality, manufacturing and suppliers, serving as the technical owner of designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 8+ years in electronic product development.
• Strong analog and mixed-signal circuit design with sensor interface electronics.
• Hands-on experience with sensing/instrumentation tech (capacitive, ultrasonic, radar).
• PCB design ownership including schematic capture, layout, and bring-up.
• Experience with firmware collaboration and embedded interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, RS-485).
• Ability to plan/execute design verification, product validation, and root-cause analysis.
• Proven record of owning technical decisions and driving to closure.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical design from concept to production release.
• Design high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuitry with sensor interfaces.
• Own PCB design including schematic capture, layout direction, and bring-up.
• Develop electronics for harsh environments (-40°C to +125°C+).
• Collaborate with firmware on board bring-up and interfaces.
• Plan and execute design verification and product validation.
• Lead structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
