Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated SENCO for a well-regarded primary school in Welkom. You will lead support services for students with diverse learning needs, coordinating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure appropriate resources and effective planning.

The role includes developing and implementing IEPs, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with CAPS and school policies. A passion for inclusive education and strong collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification with diverse learners experience.
• Postgraduate SEN qualification is essential.
• Experience coordinating SEN within a primary school.

Responsibilities

• Oversee identification, assessment and monitoring of students with SEN.
• Develop, implement and review IEPs with teachers and parents.
• Coordinate support and resources for students with SEN.
• Liaise with parents/guardians regarding progress and plans.
• Work with external agencies, specialists and therapists.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on SEN strategies.
• Maintain records of SEN students, assessments and progress.
• Ensure SEN policy is implemented and compliant with laws.
• Champion inclusive education throughout the school.
