Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Memphis is seeking an Experienced Project Manager to lead Self-Perform Operations (SPO) projects, oversee staffing, proactive planning, budget, and risk management.

You will supervise high-performance teams, foster diversity, and manage client relations, schedules, and safety protocols while coordinating with trade partners and ensuring timely pay applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination
• Supervisor or management experience preferred
• Prior union management experience desired
• Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing and accounting principles
• Read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Lead development of high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring; ensure regular feedback with staff.
• Provide leadership to foster environment of diversity and inclusion for all staff.
• Develop and improve client relationships fostering trusted advisor status.
• Understand and administer company contract and subcontract agreements.
• Promote involvement in the community to build strategic relationships.
• Foster and enhance internal, architect, owner, vendor, and supplier relations.
• Assist in development and update master schedule to include SPO; distribute schedule to trade partners to meet contractual obligations.
• Manage budget and financial reporting; interpret reports to ensure adherence to budget.
• Manage productivity tracking program.
• Manage Quality Control program.
• Provide leadership for risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions.
• Understand, comply, and advise on company ethics and compliance programs.
• Manage and oversee field operation and engineering processes.
• Understand labor agreements if in union environment.
• Develop and implement project safety protocols.
• Ensure timely submission of pay applications.
• Coordinate with accounting on timely payment of supplier invoices; review subcontracts, POs, and change orders.
