Job summary

Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years of seismic design experience for the San Francisco, CA office. You will lead heavy civil and infrastructure projects, applying advanced analysis and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, resilient structures.

The role requires a California PE license, experience with SAP2000 or MIDAS, and strong communication with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field from ABET-accredited institution.
• At least 10 years of progressive structural engineering experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Current California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience in California seismic analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, Caltrans, ASCE, and California Building Code.

Responsibilities

• Develop the preliminary and final design of heavy civil and infrastructure structures using standard analysis and design software.
• Guide and review structural analyses, calculations, and designs by junior staff.
• Incorporate constructability, design risks, and interface considerations throughout design.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and design professionals across disciplines and offices.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, client engagements, and technical discussions.
• Engage with owners, contractors, consultants, and reviewing agencies to resolve issues for successful outcomes.
• Provide engineering services during construction.
