Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer in San Francisco to lead heavy civil and infrastructure design with a strong seismic focus. You will guide analyses, drawings, and reports, mentor teams, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver complex projects.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, a California PE license, and deep knowledge of seismic design and applicable codes. Strong communication and client-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of progressive structural engineering experience on infrastructure projects.
• California PE license required.
• Expertise in California seismic design of reinforced concrete structures.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, Caltrans, ASCE, CBC codes.
• Experience with SAP2000, MIDAS, Plaxis, FLAC.

Responsibilities

• Lead preliminary and final design of heavy civil and infrastructure structures.
• Review and approve analyses, drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across offices for integrated delivery.
• Lead design reviews, client engagements, and technical discussions.
• Mentor and develop engineers, promote technical excellence.
