Job summary

GHD in California is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead complex projects spanning seismic design, retrofit, and new facilities. You will work from our California offices (San Francisco, Eureka, Santa Rosa, San Luis Obispo, Long Beach, Irvine, or San Diego) with a hybrid work model.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years in structural engineering, CA PE and SE license considerations, and proficiency in design tools along with strong leadership and client-facing communication.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of CBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE 41.
• Experience with seismic retrofit and rehab of buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design, evaluation, rehab of structural systems for facilities.
• Manage and coordinate deliverables through planning, design, construction.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering, drafting, modeling staff.
• Develop calculations, specs, reports, and construction docs.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, teams.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality and codes compliance.
