Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking candidates for a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist in Anchorage. You will lead teams on sediment remediation projects for Federal and Public sector clients, bringing independent oversight and strong technical leadership.

Preferred candidates have experience in sediment technologies, regulatory knowledge (CERCLA/GLLA), and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders while coordinating with internal experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with at least 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, and port sites.
• Understand principles of sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial action design.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating technical strategy to clients.
• Lead other staff in preparing/reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance and sound science.
