Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking candidates for a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist position. The candidate must have demonstrated expertise working independently as well as leading a team of engineers and/or scientists on sediment remediation projects for a variety of clients including those in the Federal and/or Public sector.

Sediment remediation experience will be considered on an individual basis, but experience in the following bullets is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Providing expertise in evaluating sediment remediation technologies and preparing sediment remediation designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and/or port site settings involving multiple stakeholders.
• Understanding principles of sediment transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial action design, and/or remedial action construction.
• Providing support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serving as CDM Smith’s task manager on various components of complicated sediments sites and communicating technical strategy to the client.
• Possessing in-depth expertise in CERCLA, GLLA and regulatory program steps at contaminated sediment sites.
• Serving as a liaison with clients and outside consultants to present evaluations, and leading staff in preparing technical documents.
