Job summary

Backblaze is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join our Security team, focusing on program delivery, portfolio management, and operating model practices. You will lead end-to-end security programs, coordinate with engineering, product, legal, and vendors, and drive improvements in governance and processes.

The role requires deep security domain knowledge, excellent communication, and proven ability to influence without direct authority in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field; Master’s a plus.
• 8+ years of technical program management experience, including 3+ years in security programs.
• Strong understanding of security domains: vulnerability management, IAM, cloud security, incident response.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of security programs (vulnerability mgmt, incident response readiness, IAM, data protection, cloud security).
• Communicate security program status clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain program plans, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Identify and mitigate risks and dependencies; escalate blockers with options and recommendations.
• Drive cross-functional coordination among engineering, product, legal, and vendors to meet security controls.
• Establish and report on goals, dashboards, and status for exec/board audiences.
• Manage intake, prioritization, and tracking of security findings and remediation efforts.
• Support incident response coordination and post-incident reviews.
• Continuously improve security program mgmt processes, tooling, and governance.
• Foster transparency and servant leadership to empower technical teams.
• Participate with other TPMs in cross-functional process improvements.
