Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical is seeking a seasoned electrical construction project manager to lead multi-phase commercial projects in the Suffolk, VA area. You will drive project objectives, ensure safety and NEC compliance, and develop opportunities with key clients.

The role requires strong communication, client relations, and the ability to travel as needed; a Journeyman or Master electrical license is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical construction project management experience in all phases of projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
• Valid Electrical License on Journeyman or Master level strongly preferred.
• Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Successfully pass pre-employment background and MVR checks when operating vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall management in all phases of construction for commercial electrical projects.
• Develop new business opportunities within assigned client base or geography.
• Manage security systems projects and ensure NEC and safety compliance.
• Establish project objectives, policies, and performance standards.
• Represent the company in project meetings and labor negotiations.
• Manage contract finances to protect company interests while maintaining client relationships.
• Travel as required.

Job Summary

• Provides overall management in all phases of construction for one or more commercial electrical projects and develops new business opportunities relative to a particular Client, group of Clients or geographical area
• Manages security systems projects in a manner that exceeds our customers' expectations and ensures that our work adheres to NEC, company safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements
• Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy
• Represents company in project meetings and assists in labor negotiations, strategy meetings
• Manages financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintains good relationship with clients
• Travel as required

Qualifications

• 5 or more years’ electrical construction project management experience in all phases of electrical projects.
• Bachelor's Degree engineering or construction management preferred
• Valid Electrical License on the Journeyman or Master level strongly preferred.
• Proficient computer, communications (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
• Business knowledge of vendors in respective electrical construction industry.
• Ability to travel.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
