Job summary

Biztec LLC in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Technician to lead on commercial physical security installations, focusing on access control and low-voltage cabling. You will install, configure, and commission systems, read blueprints, mentor junior installers, and ensure work meets NEC codes and project schedules.

This role requires 3–5 years of field experience and a valid license (Alarm, ELE, or Low Voltage).

Qualifications

• Active license: Alarm, ELE, or Low Voltage required.
• 3–5 years of experience installing physical security and low-voltage systems.
• Advanced understanding of access control systems and low-voltage cable runs.
• Familiarity with NEC.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and riser diagrams.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and test equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, and commissioning of access control, video surveillance, intrusion/alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform advanced access control installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute low-voltage cable runs to NEC standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, riser diagrams, and specifications.
• Terminate, test, and commission systems; diagnose complex issues.
• Serve as the senior on-site technician, ensuring quality and safety.
• Mentor and provide direction to entry-level installers.
• Coordinate with project manager on schedule, materials, and scope.
• Represent Biztec professionally with clients and trades on site.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicle, and inventory.
• Uphold NEC compliance and all safety practices.
