Job summary

University of Southern California's Administrative Operations IT department is seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer to support physical security technologies for the DPS and university community. This role combines systems engineering, troubleshooting, and project leadership to maintain access control, video surveillance, alarm monitoring, radio, and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combined experience/education acceptable.
• Five years’ experience in systems administration.
• Experience with backups, OS programming languages and hardware platforms.
• Proficiency administering enterprise physical security platforms.
• Proven success leading technology projects involving upgrades, migrations, deployments, or system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Administers, maintains, monitors, and supports enterprise physical safety technologies.
• Provides advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex security technology issues.
• Leads security technology projects involving system upgrades, migrations, deployments, expansions, integrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Designs, configures, tests, commissions security hardware and software solutions.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation, SOPs, and operational workflows.
• Coordinates vendor activities related to installations, maintenance, upgrades, warranty support, and issue resolution.
