Your Role

We seek a passionate Presales Senior Security Engineer, Public Sector, to drive sales success and improve customer experience through your technical expertise. You'll collaborate with Sales Reps and a talented team to differentiate Tenable, build lasting customer relationships, and create advocates for our solutions. This role primarily targets Federal Civilian Agencies and the broader U.S. Public Sector.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical demonstrations of Tenable’s platform, showcasing value and differentiation.
  • Manage enterprise software trials and Proof of Value evaluations aligned with customer goals.
  • Address customer challenges with consultative security and compliance expertise.
  • Answer technical questions, provide insights, and occasionally present at events and conferences.
  • Support sales efforts by working with sales teams, supporting partners, and responding to RFIs and RFPs.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
What You'll Need
  • Technical expertise in architecting solutions that assess vulnerabilities and attack paths across enterprise IT, Cloud, and OT/IOT infrastructure.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity trends and aligning solutions with business objectives.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity ecosystem components like CMDB, EDR, Ticketing, Patch Management, PAM, IDAM, etc.
  • Knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and security principles.
  • Understanding of international and local compliance standards (e.g., NIS2, DORA, PCI, FISMA, SOX, NERC, CIS, DISA STIG).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills adaptable to different audiences.
  • Ability to document activities, scopes of work, issues, solutions, and next steps.
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of related technical or pre-sales experience.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CISSP or similar certification.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and network security concepts.
  • Experience with enterprise OS at the security admin level.
  • Proficiency in Docker, DevOps, API scripting, and Python SDK.
  • Proactive attitude and up-to-date with current technologies.
